The Death Penalty

The death penalty; a harsh punishment to those that have taken the life of an innocent person.  Although there are many people that believe that the death penalty isn’t humane or right, I believe that it a good thing to have.  The death penalty can help do many things for this world.  It has the ability to cut down the costs of prisons, get the murders off the streets, and we have the full knowledge and certainty that the criminal will never strike again.

Even though it is a small reason to have the death penalty, but look at it differently than thinking about just saving money.  If a murderer killed someone in your family, would you want to have to pay to keep that person alive in jail?  You’re safe because he is in jail for life, but he is still alive and you are paying to keep him alive.

Putting the criminals in jail is not the only way to keep them off the streets.  The death penalty is the way to keep them off the streets for sure.  Now the death penalty is not for everyone, it is only for the crime of murder, because they have taken the life of an innocent person.  The death penalty is a harsh and heavy punishment but it is a good thing and it has to been humane and a painless death, which means that the person that is charged with the death penalty will die without major pain.

Having the full knowledge and surety that the murdered will not be able to strike again is a reassuring feeling. To know that everyone in the area, your family, and yourself is safe from harm from a murderer is a feeling that anyone would like to have.  The murderers have a mind that doesn’t think like ours.  They have a desire and an addiction to the feeling of having the power and control of taking the life of someone else.  Whether it is the first kill or one of many, they need to be off the streets and they shouldn’t have a chance to get back out to the streets.  The death penalty is a good way to do so.

Although the death penalty is a harsh punishment, it is a good thing to have in certain situations.  When the crime is bad enough, like murder, it necessary, as long, as it is done humanely. The death penalty has the ability to cut down the costs of prisons, get the murders off the streets, and we have the full knowledge and certainty that the criminal will never strike again.
